Do you really know how to choose socks? Do you know these obscure knowledge
Reading times:71  Update time:2024-11-19
Cold Knowledge 1: No 100% Cotton Socks
Cotton socks: There are no socks made of 100% cotton. If a pair of socks is made of 100% cotton, then the socks will have no elasticity at all. 100% cotton socks have a particularly high shrinkage rate and are not sturdy or durable. Socks with a cotton content of 75% or more are usually called "all cotton socks", while socks with a cotton content of 85% are considered very high-end cotton socks.
Cold knowledge 2: Reasons for socks pilling
Sock pilling: The main component of most socks is cotton, which is a natural fiber and a material that is very easy to break. During our walking process, the socks and shoes constantly rub against each other, causing the cotton fibers to break and entangle together, forming the phenomenon of "pilling". I don't want my socks to easily pill

Cold Knowledge 3: Why do socks fall off
Sock heel drop: If the shoe space is too large, the shoe is too loose or the shoelaces are not tied tightly, the friction between the foot and the shoe will decrease, which is not conducive to the foot grasping the ground. The socks also have no adhesion, which can easily cause slipping. Good socks will undergo anti slip treatment and use Lycra rubber to prevent insufficient elasticity and deformation after a few wears!
Cold Knowledge 4 Socks Emphasize Needle Count
Sock needle count: In addition to the commonly seen 168N or 200N for single and double needles, the needle count determines the fineness of the socks. The higher the needle count, the finer it is, making it less prone to pilling. The better the touch and wearing experience. Generally, there are 120 needles/144 needles/168 needles/200 needles, etc. Needle count refers to the number of needles arranged in a circle on the cylinder of a weaving machine. 144 needles are equivalent to 144 needles per circle, and 200 needles are equivalent to 200 needles per circle.
Cold Knowledge 5 Sock Grade Classification
Sock classification: Class A, Class B, Class C, etc. (first-class, second-class, etc.)
Most ordinary socks are of Class B! It can come into direct contact with the skin. The standards for Class A are very strict, and infants and young children can achieve Class A. Most socks are first-class products, produced by legitimate manufacturers through strict standards, and have after-sales support. Of course, it is not ruled out that there may be second-class socks, which may have defects. Third class and fourth class socks are basically not considered.
Cold Knowledge 6: Combed cotton is less prone to pilling
Combed cotton: Compared to combed cotton, combed cotton is dense, soft, and solid. Using a combing machine to remove shorter fibers (less than about 1cm) from cotton fibers, leaving behind longer and neat fibers, to create smooth yarns that make cotton more resilient, less prone to pilling, and more stable in quality. The quality of yarn spun from combed cotton is better, and fabrics made from combed cotton yarn have higher quality standards in texture, washability, and durability. But it is also more expensive than ordinary cotton.
Cold Knowledge 7 Reasons for Stinky Feet in Socks
Sock Stinky Feet: Foot odor is a stimulating odor produced by the interaction between sweat and bacteria. If sweat is not treated in a timely manner, bacteria in the feet will multiply in large numbers due to the dual effects of body temperature and the enclosed space inside the shoes, leading to foot odor. To solve the problem of foot odor, we need to start with sweat absorption and antibacterial properties, such as cotton socks, five finger socks, and bamboo fiber socks (cotton socks have good sweat absorption and breathability, while bamboo fiber itself has antibacterial properties)
Cold Knowledge 8 Socks Count MOZIG SOCKS
Sock count: The count represents the unit of fiber or yarn thickness. Yarn count is the most basic unit that makes up finished fabrics. The number of yarn count is inversely proportional to its thickness. The higher the yarn count, the finer the yarn and the thinner the woven fabric. The yarn count commonly used in socks is divided into 21 count, 32 count, 40 count, and 60 count, with a rare one being 80 count. A yarn with more than 40 counts is considered a higher count yarn. The higher the count of socks, the better the quality. High count socks are more delicate and skin friendly, and are less prone to pilling and pilling. And the higher the requirements for yarn mills and weaving mills, the higher the cost of fabric and the higher the price.
Why do socks become stiff after washing
1. The cotton content of socks is too high, so they still need some elastic fibers such as Lycra and natural fibers. Or if the quality of cotton is not high, socks made of combed cotton will be better.
2. The reason for detergent is that it can be used with fabric softener after cleaning.
3. After washing, the fiber structure of the clothes changes, and the rotation between the carbon bonds is restricted, making it feel harder.
4. You can add fabric softener and soak for 3 minutes during the last rinse, without rinsing, and wring dry and air dry directly to see if this situation can be improved.
